KENT, Ohio — Kent State University is one of several universities in Ohio shutting down all in-person classes effective immediately due to the coronavirus.
The announcement comes one day after several cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed near the Cleveland area.

University officials said starting next week, classes will begin remote instruction, spring break will occur as scheduled later in the month and in-person classes will resume in mid-April.

It’s not clear if students will be required to leave campus.
Other schools, including Ohio State and Ohio University have also gone to all online classes over concerns from COVID-19.
