2 people hurt after car barrels down cliff, lands on train tracks in Westmoreland City

MANOR BOROUGH, Pa. — Two people were injured after an overnight car crash in Westmoreland City.

According to Westmoreland County 911, the crash was located on the railroad tracks on Race Street. It was called in at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officials at the scene told Channel 11 that a pickup truck made a wrong turn onto Liberty Avenue and went through the guard rail before going down a cliff and landing on the railroad tracks.

According to Manor Borough police, a man and woman in the truck were both hospitalized and undergoing surgery. Neither had life-threatening injuries.

Police also said there were two dogs, a Cane Corso and a Cane Corso/pit bull mix, in the truck that haven’t been found.
