ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — Officials have identified the three people who were shot at a public housing complex in Ellwood City Sunday night.

State police in Lawrence County said the gunfire broke out at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the Walnut Ridge Apartments.

“I heard the initial shot. My boyfriend ran in the backdoor and I said, ‘What was that?’ and then two more shots rang out. I put the kids on the floor,” said bystander Kylee Hooks. “My daughter was crying. She’s only 4.”

Authorities said 43-year-old Thomas Lee Everett Paris, of New Castle, was shot then driven to a nearby restaurant, where he was later found dead in a parked vehicle.

According to police, 34-year-old Rashund Smith and 29-year-old Jessica Lynn Jackson, both of New Castle, were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, though their wounds weren't considered life-threatening.

Investigators told Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute involving Smith and another unnamed woman.

“We have identified everybody involved. So there’s not somebody out there shooting somebody randomly if that’s what you’re worried about,” said Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Tom Dubovi.

There was no immediate word of any charges or arrests.
