NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. — Allegheny Health Network announced Friday that it planned to spend $12 million to expand and consolidate AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital’s imaging and radiology department into one location.
The new imaging center will be 8,000 square feet and at the hospital, taking in services that had been at its outpatient radiology center on 2801 Freeport Road in Natrona Heights, about two miles away. The expansion will include new breast imaging and mammography plus a DEXA scan that measures bone density. There will also be a new mobile imaging unit.
“This investment in Allegheny Valley and its radiology department will further advance our caregiving team’s ability to make the most accurate diagnosis possible for our patients, which helps us to address their health needs in a timely and clinically appropriate manner,” said AHN AVH President Vincenta C. Gaspar-Yoo.
