There was a big buzz around the Pittsburgh Penguins practice facility on Wednesday as the team made the special wishes of two boys become a reality.

It was a big afternoon for Connor and Henry, who signed their contracts and became Pittsburgh Penguins for the day.

They donned their jerseys, laced up their skates and hit the ice with other new teammates. Their excitement for today has been building.

“He’s actually had 2-3 hours of sleep a day leading up to this event because he’s overexcited,” one of Connor’s family members said.

But it was not just the players who were excited to be on the ice.

“When you see the smile you can put on the kids face and stuff like that, perspective is a big thing in our sport. To bring him in and to be able to lighten someone’s spirits is always helpful,” said Pittsburgh Penguin Marcus Pettersson.

Their families said the two love playing sports and doing anything and everything related to hockey.
