McKnight Road was completely shut down in both directions for several hours overnight after a crash in Ross Township.

It happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday between Siebert Road and the northern entrance to North Hills Village shopping center. Ross Deputy Chief Brian Kohlhepp tells Channel 11 a car going south hopped the median and hit a car traveling north.

Two occupants in the southbound car were trapped and seriously injured, requiring rescue and aggressive medical care, according to Ross West View EMSA.

Crews were on the scene until about 4 a.m. Wednesday, when the road reopened.

Police are investigating.
