2 people hospitalized after car crashes into PRT bus in East Liberty

PITTSBURGH — Two people were taken to UPMC Presbyterian after a car crashed into a PRT bus in East Liberty Saturday morning.

According to our partners at the Trib, the crash happened in the 6600 block of Hamilton Avenue.

PRT spokesman Adam Brandolph told the Trib that the passenger of the car was hospitalized in critical condition and the car’s driver had non-life threatening injuries.

The Trib reports that at least one person had to be freed from the car by Pittsburgh firefighters.

Brandolph told the Trib that initial reports show the car crossed the double yellow line before hitting the bus.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
