2 people killed, 3 injured after head-on crash in Fayette County

GEORGES TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Fayette County that also left three others injured on July 28.

According to Fayette County 911, the crash happened at 5:23 p.m. in the 600 block of Walnut Hill Road in Georges Township.

State police said a Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Walnut Hill and collided head-on with a Chrysler 300 traveling eastbound.

State police said the driver of the Chrysler, Tyler Durst, 29, of Point Marion, and the passenger, Mercedes Mecozzi, 27, of Uniontown, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people in the Toyota were injured and flown from the scene by medical helicopters.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
