PITTSBURGH — Despite the Dow rapidly shedding points and recession threats continuing to circle, the super wealthy are again teflon, the just-released 2023 Forbes 400 shows. Collectively, the 400 richest people in the U.S. are worth $4.5 trillion, back at the record set two years ago. In 2022, their aggregate wealth was $4 trillion.
And two from the Pittsburgh area are on the list.
The highest-ranked of the locals is Maggie Hardy, No. 278, with an estimated net worth of $4.1 billion. Hardy was not among the Forbes 400 last year.
Thomas Tull, Pittsburgh-based investor and philanthropist, was No. 379, with an estimated net worth of $3 billion. It’s his third appearance on the list; Tull was No. 369 with wealth estimated at $2.9 billion in 2022.
