3 arrested after break-in at American Legion hall

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. — Police arrested three men in connection with a break-in at the American Legion #775 hall in Gilpin Township, Armstrong County.

Bryan Delandro, 27, Gary Nau, 42, and 38-year-old Christopher Sullivan are accused of breaking into the hall early Tuesday morning. It was the latest in a string of burglaries at social clubs in the area.

A member named Sonny told Channel 11 News the suspects were likely looking for money, but they did not find it.

"They got into the register but there was nothing in the register.  They didn’t know where the safes were,” he said.

Sonny said all of the wires on the side of the building were cut, except for one leading to the alarm.

"They cut all of our telephone wires, alarm systems, but they must have missed one because the alarm did go off and state police came."

The suspects were arrested down the road from the club shortly after police arrived.
