3 people killed in crash in Armstrong County

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. — Three people were killed and a fourth person was seriously injured in a crash in Armstrong County on Monday.

The crash happened around 4:50 p.m. just north of North River Drive (Route 268) and Bennertown Road.

Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers said Ronald Stockdill, 50, of Sligo, was driving southbound on North Riverview Drive when he lost control of his pickup truck and crossed the center line, striking a car driven by Holly Tweed, 37, of Butler, head-on.

Myers said Tweed and both passengers in the car, Lindsay R. Scott, 24 of Bruin and Jason R. Redenbach, 39 of Bruin, were pronounced dead at the scene. All three of them were not wearing seatbelts.

Stockdill was taken to UPMC Presbyterian with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police in Butler and the Armstrong Counter Coroner’s Office.
