PITTSBURGH — About 300 people peacefully protested in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood Saturday to show solidarity with counterparts in Baltimore.

Channel 11's Renee Kaminski was on hand to talk to the protesters in Schenley Plaza, who gathered near Forbes Avenue at 6 p.m. to protest against police brutality in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray, who died last month while in police custody in Baltimore.

Organized by a group called Pittsburgh Students Against Police Brutality, the 300 protesters held up signs like “Stop Racist Police Terror” and “Fists Up, Fight Back” during the event.

The group promoted the protest by calling it the Freddie Gray Solidarity Rally.
