PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Public Schools announced that 40 facilities in the district will transition to remote learning for the rest of this week.

On Tuesday, the district announced new Extreme Heat protocol for buildings without air conditioning.
The weather for the rest of the week is forecasted at 85 F or above and a heat index of 90 F or above, prompting the transition.
Live remote instruction will take place on Microsoft Teams.
Grab-and-go meal services will be available Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the following locations:
- West: Pittsburgh Langley
- North: Pittsburgh King, Pittsburgh Morrow Intermediate Campus
- East: Pittsburgh Arsenal, Pittsburgh Colfax, Pittsburgh Faison, Pittsburgh Greenfield and Pittsburgh Sunnyside
- Hill District: Pittsburgh Miller
- Hazelwood: Spartan Community Center
- South: Pittsburgh Brookline, Pittsburgh Concord, Pittsburgh Phillips and Pittsburgh Roosevelt Intermediate Campus
