PITTSBURGH — A boy died after he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Pittsburgh’s Glen Hazel neighborhood Tuesday night.
On Wednesday morning, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said that 6-year-old Jamel Austin died from his injuries.
According to police, officers responded to the incident in the 730 block of Johnston Avenue at 8:21 p.m.
Officers found the child upon arrival, and CPR was rendered to the child immediately. Police said he was then rushed to a hospital in critical condition at the time.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and voluntarily submitted for testing, which police said is standard procedure.
