PITTSBURGH — All lanes were closed on a busy road in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood after a two-vehicle crash that left one person in critical condition.
According to Allegheny County 911, emergency crews were called to the 1700 block of West Liberty Avenue at 12:35 p.m.
According to Pittsburgh police, first responders found one of the drivers unconscious. That person was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
A short time later, Pittsburgh police said the female driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Officials with Pittsburgh Public Safety later said in a correction that the driver is not dead.
The other driver told officials they weren’t hurt in the crash, according to police.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
