Homemade explosive found by police in McKeesport

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A homemade explosive was found in McKeesport.

Allegheny County dispatchers said police were called to the intersection of Evans Avenue and Versailles Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.

The Allegheny County Bomb Squad arrived at around 1:40 p.m.

Emergency crews at the scene told Channel 11 they were investigating a suspicious device.

Police at the scene said the explosive was homemade or improvised.

Channel 11 has reached out to McKeesport Police for more information and is waiting to hear back.
