NEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police have identified the victim and named a suspect in the fatal shooting that took place in Neville Township Thursday night.

Dwight Baker, 46, is charged with criminal homicide, burglary, aggravated assault, and other charges in relation to the shooting death of Ryan Dunnaway, who was found with five gunshot wounds, according to court documents.

A witness told investigators that Baker came inside an apartment along Grand Avenue, blocked a doorway and refused to leave. Allegheny County police said shortly after, Dunnaway arrived and Baker started shooting, allegedly scolding the witness for “throwing everything away” for Dunnaway.

Surveillance video shows a person running from the building. Dunnaway was later found dead by police, lying face down inside the apartment, shot five times.

Sewickley police found Baker later with blood on his pants and a gun, according to the complaint. He was taken into custody.

Neville Island neighbors were in shock Friday morning after many of them witnessed the aftermath.

“Grand Avenue [was] filled with nothing but cops, guns drawn and stuff like that...it’s pretty crazy,” said Arthur Jones, who lives in the neighborhood.

“It was sad. It was real, real sad. I just hate to see that,” said Rome, a neighbor who lives nearby.

“It’s just terribly shocking…it was just an unfortunate event that happened to that young man. You know, he may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Rome said.

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating.
