SWISSVALE — Metro Community Health Center in Swissvale held a drive thru distribution event today, passing out at-home COVID-19 test kits and N95 face masks for free.
Willie Blair, from Braddock, said it’s important to make sure everyone is able to test themselves, even though cases are on a decline in our area.
“We hear of other variants going on around the world, you know lifting the mask mandate make it a little nervous. You know wondering what’s coming next,” Andrew Williams from Wilkinsburg said.
Metro Community Health Center had mountains of boxes in their facility, a little over 20,000 by their count, and wanted to make sure they made their way into the hands of the public.
Metro Community Health Center CEO Michael Parker said the federal government supplies them with the test kits and masks.
“We want to really support the community here in general in the greater Pittsburgh area just to make sure we’re doing our part to make sure people stay safe and healthy and protected,” Parker said.
Metro Community Health Center plans on holding future drive thru distributions while supplies last.
