PITTSBURGH — The Diocese of Pittsburgh announced Friday that it will be holding virtual Holy Week services for its parishioners.
According to Bishop David Zubik, the goal is to preserve the significance of Holy Week while protecting the community and preventing gatherings.

“Although we will observe Holy Week in a different way, the heart of the sacred week remains intact. Jesus is bringing people together in new ways to honor the great sacrifice of Jesus in His Passion and Death,” Zubik said.
Most of the services with be led by Zubik and streamed on the Diocese of Pittsburgh website, www.diopitt.org. For information about local virtual services you should check your parish website or contact your church leaders.
The plan for virtual Holy Week services includes:
- Palm Sunday and the Passion of the Lord - April 5 at 10 a.m.
- Thursday of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Thursday) - April 9 at 7 p.m.
- Friday of the Passion of the Lord (Good Friday) - April 10 at 3 p.m.
- Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday) - April 11 at 8:30 p.m.
- Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord - April 12 at 10 a.m.
