PITTSBURGH — Michael Rosfeld, the former East Pittsburgh police officer who was acquitted of killing Antwon Rose Jr., has filed a lawsuit against one of his previous employers - the University of Pittsburgh.
The lawsuit highlights an investigation that Rosfeld conducted at a bar in Oakland. It involved the son of the vice chancellor and two others.
Rosfeld charged all three with simple assault, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
The suit claims that the university then launched an investigation into Rosfeld, and six weeks later fired him.
The suit contends that Rosfeld was never presented with any evidence as to why he was being terminated, and Rosfeld claims that his due process rights were violated.
In the lawsuit, Rosfeld contends that the vice chancellor intervened and facilitated his termination in retaliation for the arrest of her son.
