Giant Eagle installing dividers, not allowing reusable bags in response to coronavirus

PITTSBURGH — Officials with Giant Eagle announced several new changes in response to the coronavirus.

The changes include:

  • Installing plexiglass dividers to checkout and customer service areas within Giant Eagle, Market District, Pharmacy, and GetGo locations. The plexigrall will serve as a divider between employees and customers.
  • Installing floor indicators and signage at checkout lanes, visually indicating appropriate social distance between guests.
  • Asking guests to refrain from bringing reusable bags in store.

The store is also pausing the fuelperks+ “one perk per reusable bag used” promotion until further notice.
