Giant Eagle’s Parkway Center Mall location transformed into curbside pickup, delivery center

GREEN TREE, Pa. — Giant Eagle has converted its supermarket at the Parkway Center Mall in Green Tree into a curbside pickup and delivery center, where employees are now cranking out hundreds of orders a day.

That location stopped having customers shop inside prior to May 1.

“It’s given us great increase capacity to service guests both in the city as well as in the south and western suburbs,” said Dan Donovan, Giant Eagle spokesperson.

Customers can shop and pay through the Giant Eagle app or website and then choose which store to pick up their order at between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

“There’s actually a phone you call to let them know you are here. Then they bring it out to your car,” Donovan said.

Staff will load the groceries, so there is no contact with customers at all. Another option guests have is delivery.

For deliveries, Giant Eagle is charging a $9.95 convenience fee.

Customers can still pick up or drop off prescription inside the pharmacy or walk-up window at the Parkway Center location.

In the meantime, nearby Giant Eagle stores, like the one in Robinson, are preparing for more customers to shop inside.

Across the board, Giant Eagle is in need of help and looking to hire for a variety of jobs. Those interested can apply online here.
