HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Hampton Township police aren’t giving us a lot of details but businesses nearby told us that officers came in searching for video of the person’s getaway car.

“I can hear the teller saying he’s right there. He has a mask on. He’s got a red hoodie on. And he’s running right there. I could hear her saying that,” said eyewitness Luke Dray.

Dray said things were normal when he walked into First Commonwealth Bank in Gibsonia. Dray tells Channel 11 he was doing a wire transfer into a cryptocurrency account and the teller took him to a back office.

“I didn’t think much of it. I was just reviewing the information and she was like, ‘I have to step out.’ I was like, ‘of course.’ And she ran out. I heard a bunch of yelling. They said it was the gentleman in the red hoodie and the mask he’s over there. He just ran off,” said Dray.

He said the teller came back into the room and told him they had been robbed and that everybody inside the bank had to leave immediately.

“I guess it happened right behind me and I didn’t even know it. Like I didn’t think of it at the time. Obviously, they wouldn’t rob it through an ATM. I was startled. It was right behind me.”

Channel 11 called Hampton Township police and was transferred to county dispatchers. All they would say was that the 911 call came in at 3:50 p.m. Monday, no one was injured and the incident took place inside the bank.

Employees at Sheetz and Dunkin’ Donuts told us police came in looking for surveillance video of the suspect’s getaway car.

“I will say that I would’ve done something if I could’ve. I really enjoy the bank and the people are really respectful and it’s a really good bank. And it’s very unexpected.”

Police have not released a description of the suspect.
