Man arrested after firing gun, running from officers in McKees Rocks, police say

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — The McKees Rocks Police Department announced that it has arrested a man in McKees Rocks after he fired a gun and ran from police.

Kevin Scott, 22, of McKees Rocks, faces multiple weapons charges and one count of resisting arrest after allegedly firing three gunshots in McKees Rocks on Wednesday evening before running from police.

The incident happened along a dirt path connected to Davis Avenue around 6:45 p.m.

A nearby officer spotted Scott with a gun in his pocket shortly after being called to the area.

He tried to talk to Scott, but Scott ran off.

Officers followed Scott to the Island Avenue Speedway gas station, where they chased him around the building and eventually took him into custody.

Police paperwork shows authorities found Scott with two guns: an AR-15 pistol and a Glock handgun.

One of the guns was determined to be stolen from Swissvale.

Arresting documents also show Scott had been out of jail on $250,000 bond following his alleged involvement in a shooting in February.

On Wednesday, documents show Scott admitted to firing one of the weapons, telling officers he was “testing” it.

Scott is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
