PITTSBURGH — A man is dead and another person was detained by police after a shooting Monday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, authorities said.
Police were alerted to the shooting just before 3:30 p.m. when a ShotSpotter detected gunshots along Bedford Avenue.
Officers, as well as members of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office who were working in the area, found 25-year-old Cha Ron Guyton on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Paramedics tried to help Guyton, but he died at the scene.
One person was detained and taken to police headquarters for questioning, according to investigators.
