Pittsburgh Public Schools student charged as adult for allegedly punching resource officer

PITTSBURGH — A Brashear High School student is facing criminal charges after allegedly punching a school officer.

A district spokesperson told Target 11 the officer was attempting to break up a verbal altercation between students on Friday, when an 18-year-old student threw a punch, striking the officer.

The student, Avant D. Watts Finley, will face charges as a result of the incident.
