Man in custody after police standoff, house fire in West Deer Township

WEST DEER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man is in custody after a police standoff and house fire in West Deer Township on Wednesday.

Police got a call about a man threatening to burn down his house in the 3500 block of Huntertown Road.

When officers arrived, the man opened a window and shot off a roman candle at them.

There were a reported six rounds fired at officers. One officer was hit with a flare in the leg but is OK.

The man also threw a propane tank out a window.

Police said they know the man but they have not released his name.

The man will be facing a number of charges, according to police.
