Suspects in Swissvale shooting that put 6 people in the hospital appear in court

PITTSBURGH — The cases against two men who are accused of a shooting in a Swissvale apartment on Christmas Eve are moving forward.

The suspects’ names are Jacques Washington and David Clark. Both are out on bond, and both have different stories about what happened that night.

Six people were shot, and all survived.

Several of the victims were at today’s hearing. An older woman was in a wheelchair, another man was using crutches, and Washington had a walker.

Washington testified that he went home to the apartment and found his girlfriend moving out of their shared apartment with the help her family.

Washington claims Clark fired at him, but Clark’s attorney, Blaine Jones, says that’s not the case. He says Washington fired the first shots.

“It’s not just a ‘he said, she said.’ It’s a ‘he said versus five people on the other side’ basically saying this is the guy who opened fire and shot us because he was upset that our family member was moving out of the home,” Jones said.

Channel 11′s Gabriella DeLuca tried speaking to both suspects, but Washington became aggressive and started loudly cursing. One of Clark’s family members grabbed our microphone, while others blocked him as he walked to his car.
