WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — 869 members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts club will be visiting Pittsburgh as a part of Coaster Con 44.

The club members will be visiting the Pennsylvania and Ohio area for a week, stopping at Cedar Point and Kennywood.

Coaster Con is a roller coaster convention that is the largest event the club holds each year.

Kennywood has three different roller coasters that are considered ACE Roller Coaster Landmarks. The first noted landmark is the Jack Rabbit, which has operated for over 100 years and is famous for its double-dip.

The Racer is the second landmark coaster, famous for being one of only two remaining single-track coasters. American Coaster Enthusiasts say that it is the only one in the Western Hemisphere.

The last Kennywood ride recognized as a landmark is the Thunderbolt, which has been in operation since 1924.

“This is a week of celebrating our love of coasters,” communications director Elizabeth Ringas said. “Enjoying a hobby with others, as well as riding roller coasters, offers immense benefits to our mental health, leading this to be one of the most anticipated weeks of the year for our members. One couple will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary by returning to ride with their entire family, concluding the week with a vow renewal service in Kennywood.”

Club members will arrive on June 23.
