PITTSBURGH — Philadelphia-based Audacy Inc. (NYSE: AUD) has bought WAMO, the region’s only hip hop radio station, from Martz Communications Group, the company announced today.
According to the announcement, Audacy “will provide programming to WAMO-AM (660) and its FM translator (107.3) pursuant to a local marketing agreement beginning April 4.”
Audacy, previously known as Entercom before a name change last year, noted WAMO’s long heritage in serving Pittsburgh’s Black community and for playing a “pivotal role in providing content in the moments that matter to the African American community in Pittsburgh.”
