A statement posted on the school district's website said, in part:
"We had been promised all areas would be complete by our 1st student day, Monday, August 31st. The reality is our facilities are currently not ready, nor safe for our students. Therefore, it will be necessary to delay the start of our school year until Thursday, September 3rd."
