ALIQUIPPA, Pa — Sheldon Jeter, Jr. was arrested in connection with the shooting death of his childhood friend and roommate.
Police said just before midnight Friday, officers were sent to Kiehl Street in Aliquippa following a report of a man lying on the road. Tyric Pugh, 30, had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Court documents said investigators found seven spent .380 shell casings lying on the road around Pugh’s body.
State police were brought in at the request of Aliquippa police to take the lead in the investigation.
Court documents said police conducted a search warrant at the address on Pugh’s drivers license where they found Jeter. He told police he was with Pugh earlier in the night and had gone to get ice cream with some friends.

Video surveillance cameras from multiple locations coupled with cell phone records showed Jeter’s account of what happened that evening did not match up with the data, police said.
Troopers said Monday during a news conference the community provided heaps of helpful information during their investigation.
He was arrested and charged with homicide. Court documents said a Glock .380 pistol and ammunition were found during their search.
Channel 11 talked to Jeter’s attorney, Mike Santicola, who said after reading the affidavit of probable cause he believes police have no direct evidence tying Jeter to Pugh’s death.
He said Jeter was more than cooperative with investigators and forthright about that night.
Jeter was one of two people publicly questioned in the Rachael DelTondo murder investigation. He denied any involvement and was never charged in the case.
DelTondo was gunned down in her parent’s driveway on Mother’s Day two years ago.
