BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — Horse rescuers from all over Beaver County came together in Darlington to help a horse stuck in the mud.

Emily Lesko looked out to see Leggs, her 32-year-old horse, down on the ground.

She called for help, and the Farm Rescue Team and Beaver County responded.

Normally, a special sling and machinery would be needed, but the responding crews improvised.

They rolled Leggs onto a tarp and were able to get him up on their own.

Because of the horse’s age, it would’ve been difficult for him to get up himself.

Lesko has had Leggs for 10 years. She said Leggs seems to be OK, and was walked around the barnyard before being taken in.
