The boil water advisory for North Fayette County Municipal Authority customers has been lifted.

The advisory began on Monday after a tear in the Reservoir Cover. The break happened at the intersection of Ridge Boulevard and West Crawford Avenue in Connellsville.

The water main break made it possible for contamination to enter the drinking water.

Officials say they isolated the Resorvior and completely flushed their entire system after the incident.

Water samples were taken for two days in a row throughout different parts of the system to test if the water was safe. All tests came back without failures.

Officials from the Mountain Water Association have also said that they have lifted their boil water advisory too.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the North Fayette County Municipal Authority at 724-626-1211.
