GREENSBURG — People were welcomed to the Westmoreland Museum of American Art for a celebration of Black History.

Sunday was a day dedicated to honoring Black history and creativity in Greensburg.

Performers held an interactive drum circle with the Ibeji Drum Ensemble. Vocal performances were included.

“It’s just to engage our community. When we do these, we have our community partners, the NAACP Westmoreland Chapter here, the YWCA, Westmoreland Community Action, as well as our Greensburg Hempfield library, who are going to be doing some reading with Seton Hill BSU Students,” said Elle Marsahll with the Westmoreland Museum of Art.

The celebration is also part of the museum’s longer mission to provide free and engaging events to the public.
