INDIANAPOLIS — The NFL combine is underway in Indianapolis and Channel 11′s Jenna Harner was the only reporter there who got a chance to speak with Steelers general manager Omar Khan.
The combine marks a significant new chapter for the Steelers, as Khan is gearing up for his first draft as general manager.
This is an incredibly significant draft for the Steelers, with three picks inside the top 50.
Khan wouldn’t dive too much into specifics when it comes to their priorities, but he told me they’ll look to improve any position room possible.
Khan has been in the draft room many times, and Channel 11 asked him how different things feel for him with this being his first season as general manager.
“It’s really exciting. The transition’s been, I’d say, pretty smooth,” Khan said. “Really, really excited for it to get here. Wish it was tomorrow so we could get started, but it’s exciting.”
It’s no secret the Steelers are going to look to build around quarterback Kenny Pickett this off-season.
Khan put things simply when it comes to Pickett, saying: “We have our quarterback.”
