PITTSBURGH — The grand opening of the Miracle bar along Sixth Street in downtown Pittsburgh is Friday night.
The pop-up holiday bar was supposed to open a few days ago on Wednesday, but a fire marshal ordered them to tone down the decorations.
“Wednesday was definitely disappointing. We found out in the middle of the afternoon that we couldn’t open,” said Spencer Warren, the owner of Miracle bar. “But we are all happy and cheery we get to open tonight.”
Holiday decorations covered every inch of the place so they were forced to take down half of it because it was a fire hazard.
“We Christmas too hard so we pulled about half of it down so it’s still probably more than any else has but 50% of the wall have to be open so we have to follow those rules,” said Warren.
Only Channel 11 was there to get a walk through of what the bar looks like now as they were preparing to open for the season and continue the tradition.
“It’s super exciting. We look forward to it every year,” said Warren.
The owner said they expect large crowds this weekend and in December. The bar is also raising money for some local charities and they hope to reach their goal this year.
“Our goal is to raise $50,000 for charity,” said Warren.
The last day to help with those donations is on New Years Eve.
