Police got a call from a church staff member that a burglary happened Monday morning. Detectives looked through security footage and identified Fee.

A man who has attended the church said this theft is shocking.

“I’m glad that cameras caught him on camera,” Jeff Shaw said. “If they don’t have that donation box, then they are losing out and I just think it’s very wrong.”

Police said Fee went into the church, broke into the locked donation box and took $200 to $300.

”The church really relies on that money. Anything anybody could give them really helps out the churches and for someone to steal a donation box, that’s pretty ignorant,” Shaw said.

When police questioned Fee, he was reportedly wearing the same clothes seen in the surveillance video. Police also found the rock Fee allegedly used to break into the box.

Fee was arrested and charged with burglary. Some people said this also affects the community.

”It impacts the community because if the church can’t give back to the community, then the community is without,” Shaw said.

At last check, Fee is in the Butler County jail unable to post bail. He is scheduled to be in court next week.
