PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh is opening 11 drop-off locations for people to recycle their live Christmas Trees after the holiday.
According to the release, the tree recycle program begins on December 26 and will be open until January 26.
This program ensures that trees will be recycled instead of taken to a landfill, which is where the trees go if they are put on the curb.
Trees will be chipped into pine mulch to then can be used for free in the spring.
