PITTSBURGH — Get ready for a cold weekend as you head out to complete last-minute holiday shopping. Wind chills throughout Saturday will be in the teens, and winds will gust as high as 20 mph.
Lake-effect snow showers will return later, with narrow bands of heavy snow possible into the afternoon. While not widespread, these bands could dump a quick half-inch to an inch of snow and limit visibility. With temperatures not getting out of the 20s today, watch for slick spots.

Snow showers will wind down to flurries tonight, but watch for icy spots first thing Sunday as temperatures dip into the teens. Tomorrow will be colder based on the air temperature, but it won’t feel as cold with more sun and less wind.
Temperatures rise above freezing on Monday when the next upper air system brings rain and snow showers late Monday night/early Christmas Eve day.
