PITTSBURGH — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, Washington, Westmoreland, Fayette, eastern Monongalia and Preston counties until midnight tonight. Lake effect snow showers will reduce visibility at times and create snowy and slick roads for some locations, especially secondary or untreated roads. Refreezing is likely tonight watch for slippery roads and make sure to use extra caution. Snow showers will decrease later this evening and end overnight.

Sunday will be brighter with a mix of clouds and sun, still cold but not as frigid with highs in the upper 20s. Then back to the upper 30s, we go with increasing clouds on Monday. The next chance of snow and a little rain mixing in overnight into Tuesday morning. Lows will be around freezing overnight.
Light snow/rain showers will end on Christmas Eve morning, and temperatures will rise to the upper 30s by the afternoon. Dry but cloudy conditions are expected for Christmas Eve night. Christmas Day will be dry and mostly cloudy, with highs around 40 degrees. A warming trend continues for the end of the week. Highs will reach the mid- to upper 40s, with a chance of rain showers to kick off next weekend.
