Community heroes honored in Westmoreland County

GREENSBURG, Pa. — City leaders in Greensburg honored the community’s first responders and members of the U.S. Armed Forces in a banner hanging event.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, more than 90 hometown heroes at St. Clair Park were honored during the community’s Armed Forces Day celebration.

Pictures of the honored members will be added to banners and hung on light poles throughout the city and into Southwest Greensburg. This is the second time that the community has hung banners of the community’s armed forces members.

The event recognized military veterans, police, firefighters, doctors and other community members.

The banners will be hung for the next two years.
