HOMESTEAD, Pa. — A longtime funeral director was killed in a house fire on Saturday.
Ronald Jenkins, 79, died after he was rescued from his home on West 12th Avenue in Homestead. He was a longtime funeral director at Tunies Funeral Home.

His daughter, Courtney Jenkins, spoke with Channel 11 and said her dad always had a smile on his face.
Courtney said her dad had a disability and used a wheelchair. The fire spread so quickly, he was trapped on the second floor.
“He was simply not able to make it out in time, he got pretty close. He made it to the stairs and almost down, unfortunately, the smoke inhalation was too much,” Courtney Jenkins said.
The home is a total loss.
