NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One person is dead after an SUV and box truck collided in Fayette County early Tuesday, according to state police.
The 911 call came in around 5:50 a.m. for the crash in the 1000 block of Pittsburgh Street (Route 51) near the Jim Shorkey dealership.
Police said the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Forensic Services Unit, collision analysis and reconstruction specialists, and the Fayette County Coroners’ office were all on scene.
The northbound lanes were shut down between Auto Auction Road and Hickory Street, but have since reopened.
State police continue to investigate.
