Channel 11’s Lori Houy reports coyotes have been spotted near Ross Park Mall in Ross Township.

According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, coyotes have been in the state for some time. Experts say they are reclusive and have learned to adapt to urban and suburban settings.

Police have not yet filed any reports related to coyotes in Ross, but neighbors should be aware the animals are predators and may attack small pets.

Coyotes are not usually a threat to humans, but people should not approach them.
