Firefighters struggle with live wires while battling fire in North Huntingdon

NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Crews battled a fire at a building in North Huntingdon Township as strong winds swept through the area.

Westmoreland County dispatchers said firefighters were called to the 13000 block of Route 30 at 8:56 p.m.

Investigators said firefighters were struggling with downed live wires at the scene.

West Penn Power was called to make repairs.

No injuries were reported.

The Circleville Fire Department said they were at the scene of a tree on a transformer nearby.

Firefighters said the roof of the building caught on fire.

Route 30 was closed in the eastbound lane between Carpenter Lane and Colonial Manor Road as crews responded.

As of 10:00 p.m., the fire was under control.
