BETHEL PARK, Pa. — A house was gutted by flames Sunday afternoon in Bethel Park.
Fire officials said the fire likely started in the living room of the Willow Glen Drive home, part of which collapsed.
"I drove up and there were just flames all in the window," a neighbor told Channel 11's Lori Houy.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they were met with the challenge of a frozen fire hydrant.
Houy learned that the woman who lived in the house was not home when the fire started. There were, however, pets inside.
"A couple of the neighbors tried going in to save the dogs and then when the police came they told them to get out," the neighbor said.
It is unclear if the pets survived.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
