PITTSBURGH — A child has died after a fire at an apartment building in Pittsburgh’s East Hills.

Allegheny County dispatchers confirmed emergency crews were called to the 2110 block of Park Hill Drive at 9:05 p.m.
Channel 11 learned this was a mass casualty incident.
Dispatchers said three people were taken to the hospital from the scene. Officials at the scene said two children were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital in critical condition. One of the children has died. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Praise Lemons, 2.
An adult was also hurt, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Fire officials told Channel 11 that all three victims were rescued from inside the burning apartment by being pulled out through the window.
The entire apartment building was evacuated, and there is serious damage inside.
The Red Cross and the Salvation Army were assisting residents at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
