A woman was killed in a crash involving a commercial vehicle and a car in Westmoreland County.
Officials tell Channel 11 this occurred at Route 22 at Hannastown Road in Salem Township at 10:06 a.m.
According to a release from the Westmoreland County coroner, the woman has been identified as 79-year-old Sandra Jones of Salem Township.
The coroner’s office said Jones was driving a 2018 Ford Escape and stopped at a traffic control device at the intersection of White Thorn Road and Route 22.
Jones attempted to cross over the lanes of Route 22 and continue onto Hannastown Road, when her car was struck by a tractor-trailer.
Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
Cellphone use is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
All lanes of Route 22 have reopened after the crash, according to Westmoreland County 911.
