BRENTWOOD, Pa. — Twenty customers are without after a water main break in Brentwood Thursday morning.
People who live in the neighborhood thought there was just really heavy rain, but when they looked outside, they saw water rushing through their front yards.
This isn’t the first time this has happened this week. But they say this is certainly the worst.
Water rushed down Sunview Drive, sweeping away grass and knocking over retaining walls.
“It was like a river. It was just a muddy river coming through the yards. Coming down. Pushing everything on its way down. You can see my yard is just rock,” Lisa Healy said.
The water also seeped into the basements of several townhomes.
Healy said firefighters helped unplug all her appliances as water kept pouring into her basement.
“The basement is just a waterfall,” Healy said.
Healy also shared a video with Channel 11, which shows water coming out of the ground and cracking her driveway on Monday.
Pennsylvania American Water said it hopes to complete repairs and restore water by 4 p.m.
